For 2021 the membership fee is R235.43 per R1 million property value.
Until Local Government by-laws have been passed by the JBM Local Municipality, these membership contributions are voluntary.
The NWU as an anchor member has provided its own member contribution, as well as a loan amounting to R2,2 million to cover the capital expense (mainly the cameras). The NWU will also carry the expected operating shortfall of the first period by means of a loan amounting to R1 million. The plan is to pay off this loan (and possible additional loans by additional anchor members) in full by 2026.
The success of this project can only be guaranteed if the land, property and business owners commit themselves to the vision of the Cachet Park CID. Property values will improve because of the safety issues being addressed, services, facilities and living conditions being improved and the transformation of the area through the process of beautification and placemaking.
